The Preachers of Divine Mercy Monastery (PDM) was established by Mar Jacob Manathodath (Bishop Emeritus of Palghat Diocese, Kerala, India) and elevated to the status of a monastery on May 30, 2021. PDM Monastery was co-founded by His Grace Mar Jacob Manathodath, Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil PDM, Rev. Fr. Binoy Karimaruthinkal PDM, and Rev. Mother Amy Emmanuel ASJM. The formation of the initial candidates began on April 28, 2018, following the establishment of the clerical pious union on April 24, 2018. The first house of PDM was established at PDM Hills, Attapadi, on December 4, 2018, which facilitated the further development of the seminary for the formation of various batches.

On October 15, 2020, His Grace Bishop Jacob Manathodath attended the vestition of PDM’s first batch and blessed the seminary compound. Currently, the monastery comprises 56 members, including "come-and-see" candidates. Among these, there are 3 solemnly professed priests and 15 temporarily professed members. Those who have made their first profession are pursuing their Major Seminary studies at Vadavathoor Seminary in Kottayam and Mary Matha Seminary in Thrissur. They reside in PDM study houses located near the seminaries. At present, 5 candidates are in novitiate at PDM. Additionally, there are 15 candidates in the PDM Seminary undergoing various stages of religious formation. Furthermore, 10 candidates are preparing for entry as PDM Aspirants. We also have 9 candidates pursuing their bachelor's degrees and 4 students attending school.

The PDM Austin Spiritual Center and Monastery was officially established on July 28, 2024, coinciding with the feast of St. Alphonsa. Bishop Joy Alappatt, of the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Diocese of Chicago, ceremoniously handed over the keys to Father Xavier Khan Vattayil PDM. This event marks a significant milestone for PDM in the United States as it embarks on fulfilling its mission.
